October happenings.

Recently, Life has been good overall. Last week, I ended up accepting a position at a new company and I start on the 28th. Additionally, last Friday was our second anniversary. This coming Thursday and Friday we are heading up to MA for a couple of days to enjoy ourselves for a few days. Our cat's are doing well and the apartment is in order. The news on TV though, that leaves much to be desired. It seems like the sum of all fears is on our doorstep and any day now the air raid sirens are going to be blaring in the streets. The US and NATO fighting a proxy war with Russia through Ukraine, and Israel starting their own war on terror... between the two I'm surprised that we aren't having major issues here in the US. Protests on college campuses have died down dramatically, however i did hear that there was a sit-in at the New York Stock Exchange today to protest the war in Gaza. Really the US has it's hands full. And the best thing that America could do right now is not engage. I know it sounds stupid, but if we get tied up in Middle East Politics to the same extent as we were 20 years ago... then the country is going to go to shit. What Israel is doing is nothing different than when the US invaded Iraq and Afghanistan back in the early 2000's after 9/11. We basically went in... killed massive amounts of civilians... and leveled most of their cities in the interest of "Ending Terror" and "Promoting Freedom."

I understand the notion of no negotiations with terrorists (Something we ended up doing to end the Afghanistan occupation), and that all hostages should be returned... But.... at the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist, It's intentionally inciting violence for the sake of violence. Yes... the October 7th, 2023 Attacks were Violent and extreme. Yes, the terrorists responsible for it should be punished... But much like Seal Team 6 taking out the head of al-Qaida in a covert night operation, that's what Israel should have done to rescue the hostages and kill the people who plotted the attack. Waging all out warfare to find a needle in the haystack without caring about the collateral damage would not look good in the judgement of the God that granted them the land in the first place. (Or at least it wouldn't if they followed their holy books in the first place). What's worse... is by intercepting the supply chain of another terrorist organization that is at odds with them and turning the pagers and walkie talkies into literal bombs, it means that they not only know their every move by now, but they also through cold calculation, attempted to wipe out the entire terrorist organization in a two day sweep without regard for how many innocent lives were lost by being in the same bus or store as the terrorist. Whether or not Iran is going to send a hyper sonic Nuke at Israel is the next question on my mind.

I'm not normally political... but I've caught the news recently and i feel if things don't change soon... then the health and strength of our global society may not stay stable... Earth is only 8.4 Billion years old... And humans may have been around for possibly the last 3 Million... Cars the last 120 years... Cell Phones for the last 30.... I really hope I don't spend my life stressing about a weapon that was built in the 1940's for the rest of my life. And when you think of 10 Trillion years from now... the wars of today will be but a blink in existence.

A lot of planning...

So, seeing as I'm now out of work again I figure my current system isn't working. If i want to be successful in business and in life, then i need to get my basics down. Recently, I've started making sheets on excel to track what I'm doing everyday. they range everything from Diet and exercise to mood and symptoms. If i don't start tracking this stuff then I'm never going to make progress. While it's easy to put these items into practice using 1000s of apps... i found that just writing it all down on a few excel spreadsheets and tracking it by hand several times a day is a lot easier to remember. And it gets me off my phone. Lately I've be "Doom Scrolling" without any real purpose and what ends up happening is eventually the AI algorithm starts showing me videos of people dying in car crashes. Not exactly what makes me happy ya know. So I've got my lists and that's what I'll be working on for the foreseeable future while i attempt t...

A Bit of Hope on a Cloudy Afternoon.

Tonight we are heading over our friends' house to have dinner and hang out for a while. December 10th isn't really a memorable date. But every year around this time of year things start to happen that give tiny moments like these a real feeling of warming. Today even, it was nearly 60 degrees at one point today and it made this brutal cold seem bearable. It's not safe to be outside during the darkest of winter. Cold brings out the worst in people, and overall it's hard to handle because it also brings out the despair in people. Merge the two together and you could be looking at a cold dark society which emerges in the spring jaded working every year to bring happiness into ones life only to suffer the cold dark winter the following year. Today i have hope though. Recently i was inspired after talking with people that care about me. The best part is... a renewed sense of hope can alter the mind in such a way... it's better than any drug or substance that you can use ...

No Sooner Did I Say....

No sooner did i mention that I have a new job, was i laid off for excessive days off. It's really for the birds. Here i am a disabled person who wants to work... and I've had an incredibly hard time hold down a job this year. Whether it be manic episodes due to the medication my doctor put me on, or the company pulling a bait and switch and finding due to that I'm not qualified for the position, to being out sick a couple of days and getting let go... this year has been terrible. While I've had frequent thoughts of a permanent "Out" for myself from this life... it would seem like a waste to get from an unsuccessful suicide attempt in 2008 to giving it another go 17 years later. I feel like if i survived the first attempt... then i must be here on this planet for some reason so i need to make the best of my time. Even in poor health, an optimistic attitude can make the difference between healing or not.   I don't know what my plan is now. But, i know that ...
