It's 2:35am and I'm having a hard time sleeping. Something that was going on tonight left me on edge when i exited the situation. Either something big was going down, or it was my usual sense of paranoia. Either way, the mind is still active.
Day 55 without Alcohol is a pretty cool thing. I'm finding overall I'm feeling healthier. My digestion is improving and my skin is clearing up. My next big feat is going to be quitting THC. I have a good plan for quitting. And overall I don't feel like it will be to difficult. I've been nervous about it because i put together a basic coloration: If the brain has nicotine receptors.... and it's lack of nicotine in the nicotine receptors, that trigger the cravings on a smoker when they go without nicotine, does it not stand to reason that if the brain has cannabis receptors in the brain, when the lack of cannabis in the cannabis receptors in the brain happens, does that not trigger a withdrawal like symptom? Honestly, I've been fearful to find out. But it seems like it would be worthwhile to find out if for nothing else than scientific reasons. Needless to say, I'm starting today. 55 days no Alcohol. Next Goal 55 Days no THC. By the end that will be 110 days no alcohol. Then 55 days to quit Nicotine. That will be 165 days.... and all of the terrible vices will be gone. 55 days isn't a long time. It's less than 2 months. And when you have been alive for 40 years... 2 months is barely on the timeline. But... 2 months can change everything.
Tonight while listening to music i amused myself by creating a 7 day exercise routine specifically designed around the equipment I have in my house. I also created a 7 day meal plan around the fact I have a bad gallbladder and the medications i take. What i found out was how my medications effected my fat storage and sugar processing. This spurred a bit of thought, mainly, that if i did this exercise routine, and stuck to the diet for a period of 6 months, the results would definitely show. I was discussing it with a buddy of mine though and found that sometimes just starting is the answer. Rather than having laid out a details 7 day work out routine, i should just do push ups... Another friend i discussed it with mentioned "change one thing at a time." Rather than doing a million things at once, just shoot for one item, wait a while, then move on to the next item. Personally, i do feel like i could complete the 7 day fitness plan... for a period of 7 days... the issue becomes the cost on the food. Eating healthy isn't cheap. And based on the 7 day diet i designed I'd be looking at 100 - 200 for food for me alone. Something we can't afford right now. I am planning on seeing what it would cost on the Aldi's app just for fun though. If it's under $75 dollars for a weeks worth of food with the meal plan, I'll probably try it out for a week... and if it's sustainable, I'll run with it.
I feel like 6 months of buckling down, while abstaining from Drinking and Drugs... along with a solid exercise routine and diet.... will put me in good shape by the time spring 2027 rolls around. As it stands - 6 months from now is March 2027. Having both a healthy mind and a healthy body for 2027 would be amazing. That's why I'm going to do it the way I want to do it.... and not the way someone else tells me i should (Unless it's the wife... because ya know... she's important).
