The past few days of my vacation have been good. I registered my Car Monday, and went for a physical on Tuesday. Wednesday i kinda just slacked off, and Yesterday my wife and I got coffee in the morning at a place where our friend works, then went swimming in a salt water pool, and then went to the movies to see a theatrical release of Hadestown, the Broadway musical. Last night my wife went down to house sit for the remainder of the weekend so me and the cats are flying solo this weekend. Currently i don't have to many plans. My parents requested that I go to dinner with them tonight, but as of right now, i don't know if that is going to happen.
My plans for today are to go get a haircut today at 11:00am, then Uber drive for the majority of the afternoon (Noon to 4pm), then stop home and reassess if i am going to go see them or not. It really all depends on two factors. A.) how much money I have earned. and B.) where i am at 4pm. For instance, the other day (Wednesday)... i decided to Uber drive for a couple of hours and during my two trip session... one of the trips brought me up to Logan Airport. Getting there wasn't too bad... but the 2 or so hours driving home was a bit of a downer. That's why i can't commit to dinner tonight because if i have a trip that brings me out of state at say 3pm... I don't know what time I'll be getting home ya know.
It being Friday I want to avoid my usually poor choices for Friday nights and just simply Uber Drive either after dinner or after rush hour is done (7pm). I figure i could probably Uber Drive for an estimated 5-7 hours tonight from 7pm until 2am... for the best money. Ideally, starting this week will be a long standing of Uber Driving on the weekend where the goal is to work for 20 hours (Estimated $360 - $500) for three weeks out of the month (Excluding on-call weeks). Minus expenses, I'd probably be looking at making between $275 and $400. For the time being all of the money is just going to go into the Joint Checking account to begin to repay debts and build a buffer.
I've probably mentioned this once or twice already in the last 13 days but if i stick to a schedule of working during the week, and Uber driving between 10 and 20 hours on the weekends (Spread across three days), then we should be ending August with a surplus (even if it's only $20 dollars). In August, i have to work to get us back on track completely... that way moving into the rest of the year we do have all the bills paid on time and start to pull ahead. Hell... even having an extra Rent payment would do wonders in terms of us ending the year on a positive note.
I know these posts might seem repetitious... constantly going on about our financial situation and the plan for quitting my vices and beginning a new Positive and Healthy life, but the stressors of the moment always cause some sort of issue. I can tell you that I am always in a positive frame of mind when i have at least one rent check in the bank. So, for the time being... that is my target goal. One additional rent check in the bank. Then, once i have that.... work to build up towards one entire months of bills... then work on month 2 of bills... then so and so fourth until i have 6 months of bills in the bank. This is of course in addition to slowly reducing my debts.
We found out that the survey app my wife was doing was no longer cost effective. It was one of those apps where you play games and get paid out for it.... But what i found out this week was that my wife was spending nearly $50 dollars a week and the app was only paying between $40 and $50 dollars over the same time period. Therefore, it's definitely not cost effective to continue playing it.
So.... while my Sobriety has been going well, and as of yet I haven't been tempted to drink alcohol... Actually finding the time to write everyday has been somewhat elusive. So i am going to commit to writing at least twice per week. My goal... as mentioned previously, is 90 days sober, then 56 days nicotine patch, then 90 days zero Nicotine. That's 236 days... then at the end of the 236 days... work on Quitting THC, which i imagine by then being easy. While i don't know if I'll ever be a 4am Jogger.... I can tell you it's a lot easier being a 4 AM Jogger when you have zero vices.
